Now Open (1): Counter Sales / Customer Service Representative

RAW Equipment, one of New York's largest distributors of construction materials, has an opening for an inside salesperson at its Flushing location. This position services area contractors either at the sales counter or on the phone, maintains stock on showroom shelves, and maintains files and records. RAW Equipment carries a variety of products for the concrete construction industry - from hammers and hard hats to epoxies, adhesives, cements, coloring, forms, rebar, expansion joints and cleaners.


Duties Include:

  • Assisting walk-in customers with needs
  • Processing sales orders and cash transactions
  • Servicing incoming calls from area customers
  • Maintaining shelves and displays
  • Inventory reports, cycle counts and adjustments
  • Other duties as required.

Skills Required:

  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
  • Sales and customer service
  • Computer operation and data input
  • Counter/register experience helpful
  • Building products/hardware/construction expierence helpful
  • Sense of personal responsibility - self-motivator
  • Entry level or experienced.

Now Open (1): Outside Sales - Metro NY / NJ

This position develops business opportunities with Metro New York and New Jersey construction companies. Qualifications include a minimum of 5 years construction industry sales experience, an understanding of construction drawings and specifications, interpersonal communication skills, and a proven record of results.


Duties Include:

  • Calling on and securing orders from established and prospective customers.
  • Assisting customer training of new product technologies.
  • Reviewing plans and specifications for new construction projects and preparing quotations for prospective bidders.
  • Securing orders from bidders awarded contracts.
  • Coordination with inside sales team and operations on specific requirements for materials and delivery.

Skills Required:

  • Minimum 5 years of industry sales experience.
  • Ability to understand construction plans and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving and product knowledge of concrete materials.
  • Planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Sense of personal responsibility / self-motivator.
  • Ability to close sales and develop business.

Compensation: Equivalent to experience with reimbursement of travel and business expenses.
